My Story

My name is Emma, my rovering reporters are TillyTumTum, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Wacky Jacky, the creatively named Jack Russell Terrier and we live in the beautiful Peak District National Park, UK.

Our goals are to entertain and inform our lovely site users of interesting and curious animal scientific news from all over the world. Along the way, there will also be a few other scientific news articles which have caught my attention.

A little about myself. I’m a mature student who restarted my university studies in my 40s. I previously worked for many years within ecological companies as a Personal Assistant and Researcher. My passions are for mammals, rewilding both our British Isles as well as other countries and I have a penchant for giant tortoises. I have a master’s in Wildlife Conservation and I am currently studying at the UWE, Bristol, for a further masters in Science Communication, which will hopefully lead onto a PhD. During my Wildlife Conservation Masters, I discovered my love of disseminating and communicating science to the public in a way that hopefully takes the mystery out of what can be rather dry scientific research papers.

My rovering reporters are my beautiful dogs, who have been a constant source of love and support. It is my love of them that has given me the desire to pursue my goals.
